The food issue is a key component of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations. Promoting a circular economy within production systems will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. This circular economy approach addresses food security and sustainable agriculture, reducing food waste, effectively managing resources in consumption and production, reducing marine pollution, halting global land degradation, ending world hunger, and ensuring good health and well-being. During implementation, people have devised numerous methods and measures to compensate for this. How to extend the lifespan of natural resources and fully utilize them while reducing environmental pollution is a fundamental consideration and key principle of the circular economy. Currently, a common approach involves recycling, returning resources to the original material supply chain. This cycle is also achieved through redesigning products and processes, changing existing business models, and integrating relevant logistics measures. \"Special products\" refer to products that, during the growing and harvesting process, do not meet market specifications but remain of acceptable quality. This article explores the topic of \"special products\"\u2014peaches. Approximately 30% of Taiwan's peaches fail to enter the market each year. This staggering statistic represents not only a loss of economic output but also a significant inefficiency in the effective use of such a vast resource. Therefore, after discussions with clients, three applications for peach products were developed. First, peach juice can be used to brew craft beer. The pulp can then be made into a puree for use in beverages and bakery applications. Finally, the cores can be ground into a powder, replacing existing plastic microparticles and used in scrubs and exfoliating hand soaps. While these three applications may not be entirely new, they effectively utilize the product, reducing waste and increasing farmers' income. Natural resources invested in the production process are maximized to minimize new inputs. During production, R&D and design are used to optimize raw materials and products, increasing economic value while minimizing environmental impact. By promoting a circular economy, environmental pressure can be reduced while maximizing benefits, ensuring the sustainable development of natural resources. References 1.
