Previously, these two substances had been proposed for inclusion in the RoHS restricted substances list after public consultation and evaluation. Following discussions with stakeholders and information collection, the adoption date for this proposal was postponed from the fourth quarter of 2022 to the fourth quarter of 2023. Following further evaluation, the EU ultimately decided to suspend the proposal, but stated that the feedback received from stakeholders remains available for future consideration. Therefore, companies must continue to monitor future updates and changes to the EU RoHS Directive to ensure product compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eecloud.sgs.com\/Region_TW\/UploadCenter\/others\/20241217090429.png\" alt=\"2024\u5e7412\u670810\u65e5\uff0c\u6b50\u76df\u4e2d\u6b62\u4e86\u5728RoHS\u6307\u4ee4\u4e2d\u65b0\u589e\u4e2d\u93c8\u6c2f\u5316\u77f3\u881f(MCCPs)\u548c\u56db\u6eb4\u96d9\u915aA(TBBP-A)\u7684\u63d0\u6848\u3002\u6b64\u524d\uff0c\u9019\u5169\u9805\u7269\u8cea\u7d93\u904e\u516c\u8846\u610f\u898b\u5fb5\u8a62\u548c\u8a55\u4f30\uff0c\u66fe\u88ab\u63d0\u8b70\u52a0\u5165RoHS\u9650\u5236\u7269\u8cea\u6e05\u55ae\u4e2d\u3002\u7d93\u904e\u5404\u5229\u76ca\u76f8\u95dc\u65b9\u8a0e\u8ad6\u548c\u4fe1\u606f\u6536\u96c6\uff0c\u6b64\u63d0\u6848\u63a1\u7d0d\u6642\u9593\u75312022\u5e74\u7b2c4\u5b63\u63a8\u9072\u81f32023\u5e74\u7b2c4\u5b63\uff0c\u7d93\u904e\u8a55\u4f30\u5f8c\u6700\u7d42\u6c7a\u5b9a\u4e2d\u6b62\u8a72\u63d0\u6848\uff0c\u4f46\u6b50\u76df\u8868\u793a\u6b64\u524d\u5229\u76ca\u76f8\u95dc\u65b9\u7684\u53cd\u994b\u610f\u898b\u4ecd\u53ef\u4f9b\u5c07\u4f86\u53c3\u8003\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\u4f01\u696d\u4ecd\u9700\u6301\u7e8c\u95dc\u6ce8\u6b50\u76dfRoHS\u6307\u4ee4\u7684\u5f8c\u7e8c\u66f4\u65b0\u548c\u8b8a\u5316\uff0c\u4ee5\u78ba\u4fdd\u7522\u54c1\u7684\u5408\u898f\u6027\u3002\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SGS Experts Remind: MCCPs and TBBP-A Regulations Still Require Attention<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Although medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) and tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBP-A) are not currently regulated by the EU RoHS Directive, they are subject to close scrutiny by local governments due to their potential to cause unacceptable health and environmental impacts during the disposal and recycling of electronic and electrical products. Furthermore, both MCCPs and TBBP-A are included on the SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) candidate list under the EU REACH regulation. Under this regulation, companies are required to notify and report these substances when their concentration in an article exceeds 0.1%. In addition, common international regulations such as US CP65, REACH Annex XVII, and the Stockholm Convention also impose restrictions or propose new controls on these substances. <br><br>SGS recommends that companies closely monitor updates to international regulations on banned and restricted substances and promptly adjust product and supply chain control strategies to ensure that their products comply with local market requirements. REACH Annex XVII (Awaiting Announcement): In July 2022, ECHA proposed adding MCCPs to the REACH restricted substances list, and an official announcement is currently awaited.
