On September 1, 2023, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced a public comment period on six potential substances of very high concern (SVHCs). Among these substances, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), which was added to the official list of SVHCs in October 2008, is being reviewed again to identify new hazards. The public comment period will close on October 16, 2023, during which time stakeholders can submit comments to ECHA. If approved, these five substances, excluding DBP, will be added to the official list of SVHCs, becoming the 30th batch of SVHCs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
