All companies that manufacture or import these substances must review the responsibilities and obligations associated with this addition to the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The current list of authorized candidate SVHCs contains 29 items, including the first 15 SVHCs announced by ECHA on October 9, 2008, and the 14 newly added SVHCs. The responsibilities and obligations represented by these 29 SVHCs for finished product manufacturers or importers located within the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From the date the substance is included in the SVHC Authorisation Candidate List:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>       If a finished product manufacturer or importer contains an SVHC substance at a concentration exceeding 0.1 (w\/w) in its manufactured or imported products, it must proactively provide its customers (in this context, communication within the supply chain) with information on the safe use of such a substance and the name of the SVHC substance. In addition, if a consumer actively requests information on the presence of an SVHC substance at a concentration exceeding 0.1 (w\/w) in a product, the supplier of the product shall provide the supplier with information on the safe use of such SVHC substance and its name free of charge within 45 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Since 2011:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manufacturers or importers of finished products located within the territory of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) shall notify (notify) ECHA if the products they produce or import contain SVHC substances at concentrations exceeding 0.1 (w\/w) and weigh more than 1 ton\/year. Since the substances within the authorization candidate list are announced in batches, the distinction is made by the time point of the announcement;SHVCs announced by December 1, 2010 for inclusion in the authorization candidate list must complete the notification by June 1, 2011. SHVCs announced for inclusion in the candidate list for authorization after December 1, 2010 must complete notification within 6 months of the inclusion of substances in the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: No notification is required if either of the following two conditions is met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i. Finished product manufacturers or importers can eliminate the potential exposure effects on humans and the environment during the use or disposal phases of the product. However, they should still inform their customers or end consumers of appropriate handling or usage methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0ii. The purpose of this SVHC has been included in the purpose description in the registration file at the time of registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The newly added SVHCs can be found in the following introduction or in the attached ECHA newsletter.
