The EPA can then assess the purpose of the notification and, if necessary, prohibit or restrict the activities before they occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This move is part of the Environmental Protection Agency's further control of hazardous substances, and in some cases, it prohibits the use of harmful substances such as mercury and lead contained in certain products.
