According to ECHA, p-tert-octylphenol, initially nominated by Germany as an SVHC under Article 57(f) of the REACH Regulation, has endocrine-disrupting properties and poses a serious potential environmental hazard. The remaining 19 nominated substances are classified as carcinogenic, teratogenic, or reproductively toxic substances (CMRs), which ECHA considers to have potentially serious effects on human health. To date, there are six batches totaling 73 SVHCs. The first batch of 15 SVHCs was announced by ECHA in October 2008, the second in January 2010, the third in June 2010, the fourth in December 2010, and the fifth in June 2011.
