The document primarily addressed and responded to the proposed amendments to the RoHS Directive published by the European Commission on December 3, 2008. Key points included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All electrical and electronic equipment are subject to the RoHS directive. Currently, exclusions include large-scale stationary industrial tools and musical pipe organs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>l Delete Annex 1 (Electrical and Electrical Equipment) and Annex 2 (Products Covered in Each Category) from the first draft of the RoHS amendment;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The draft amendment changes the existing strategy of expanding the scope of restricted substances. Annex 3 of the first draft amendment is deleted, and the four previously planned new restricted substances are now prioritized for inclusion in the assessment. It also recommends that the Executive Committee adopt a method similar to the REACH Regulation to regulate chemical substances. Annex 4 of the first draft amendment, which lists six chemical substances currently regulated by the RoHS Directive, is retained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the responsibilities and obligations of manufacturers, importers, and distributors, these include: before any electrical or electronic equipment is placed on the EU market, the importer must verify that the manufacturer has met the regulatory requirements; the importer must also record information such as its company name, registered trade name or trademark, and contact address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>l\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Requirements for the CE marking.
