Phenol is commonly found as a monomer in phenolic resins used in the manufacture of plywood toys, and degradation of phenolic antioxidants in polymers can also be a source of phenol. Phenol has been identified in game console exhaust, children's tents or tunnels, and packaging films, and has also been found in children's bath toys, inflatable toys, and PVC. Phenol is commonly used as a preservative in: \u2013 Water-based liquid toys, such as bubble wrap products; \u2013 Water-based liquid inks in felt-tip pens or colored pens. This limit will come into effect on November 4, 2018.
