TCEP is considered a chemical that can harm human health, including potential carcinogenicity and reproductive toxicity. Children under three years old often put their hands in their mouths or chew on toys, making them more likely to come into contact with migrating substances from polyurethane foam containing TCEP in toys or care products. The Canadian Toy Association welcomed the federal government's proposed amendments.

TCEP is a flame retardant added to polyurethane foams and plastics. It is commonly used in plastic and foam products, especially in children's product fillings (such as crib bumpers, sleeping pads, diaper pads, and portable mattresses). It is also found in some automobiles, furniture, soundproofing building materials, carpets, interior coatings, automotive interior parts, and electromechanical equipment.

Sources:Canadian Gazette

[1

post-6711","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-global-environmental-news
["GET
