Before the goods are put on the shelves, removing these plastic bags or shrink wrap generates a considerable amount of plastic waste. These single-use plastic packaging materials are usually very clean. If they are recycled through the correct channels, the subsequent cleaning and recycling process is simpler than that of plastic waste sorted from municipal waste, and the negative impact on the environment can be reduced considerably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, Simon Mall's three department stores were the first to introduce plastic baling machines and set up plastic packaging recycling rooms within the stores to centrally collect these clean, single-use plastic packages. Retailers send their discarded plastic packages to the \"Plastic Room,\" where the baling machines compress them into space-saving plastic cubes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To reduce its negative environmental impact, Simon Mall proactively recycles waste plastic packaging materials generated by retailers within the mall. It also sought assistance from the American Chemistry Council to find suitable recycling companies and discussed transportation routes with logistics companies. After delivering retail goods to the mall, the original vehicles would transport the packaged waste plastic packaging materials to the recycling company's facility to reduce its environmental footprint.
