Attention! SASO RoHS has been announced on July 9, 2021

SASO RoHS is a mandatory regulation that officially came into effect on July 9, 2021. From January 5, 2022, electronic and electrical products imported into Saudi Arabia must comply with the regulations; otherwise, customs clearance will be denied.

SASO RoHS controls the following 6 hazardous substances:：

鉛 Lead (Pb) < 1000 ppm
汞Mercury (Hg) < 1000 ppm
鎘Cadmium (Cd) < 100 ppm
六價鉻Hexavalent Chromium (VI) < 1000 ppm
多溴聯苯Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) < 1000 ppm
多溴聯苯醚Polybrominated Biphenyl Ethers (PBDE) < 1000 ppm

Newly produced electronic and electrical equipment will be given a 180-day buffer period (calculated from the date of regulatory announcement) and must comply with the regulatory requirements from January 5, 2022; products entering the market before July 9, 2021 will be given a 365-day buffer period, and products that do not comply with the regulatory requirements can only be sold until July 9, 2022.

Home appliances
Information and communications technology equipment
lighting equipment
Electrical and electronic tools and equipment
Leisure, entertainment and sports equipment
Monitoring and control equipment

Post-marketing surveillance mechanism:

Customs sampling or market supervision agencies sampling products on the market
Those who fail to comply with regulatory requirements will be subject to administrative penalties and fines.
