EU Revises Annex 17 of REACH Regulation

On April 15, 2011, the new regulation (EU) No 366/2011 was published in the European Union Gazette, adding acrylamide (CAS 79-06-1) to the list of Appendix 17 "Restrictions on the Manufacture, Sale and Use of Hazardous Substances". Added to item 60. The regulations stipulate that after November 5, 2012, substances or mixtures containing acrylamide with a concentration exceeding 0.1% shall not be sold on the market.
In addition, on March 3, 2011, the European Union announced a new regulation (EU) No 207/2011, which revised Appendix 17 of the REACH Regulation "Restrictions on the Manufacture, Sale and Use of Hazardous Substances" to include Pentabromodiphenyl ether and Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) will be deleted and will take effect 3 days after the announcement.
Pentabromodiphenyl ether and perfluorooctane sulfonate are now included in the control of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). In August 2010, EU Regulation (EU) No 757/2010, the resolution of the Fourth Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention (COP4), revised Regulation (EC) No 850/2004 (POPs Directive) to incorporate nine new POPs into management. . Note: 9 new POPs include Alpha hexachlorocyclohexane, Beta hexachlorocyclohexane, Hexabromodiphenyl ether and heptabromodiphenyl ether. , Tetrabromodiphenyl ether and pentabromodiphenyl ether, Chlordecone, Hexabromobiphenyl
, Lindane, Pentachlorobenzene, perfluorooctane sulfonic acid, its salts and perfluorooctane sulfonyl fluoride (PFOS).
