The TCO verification standard developed by the Swedish TCO organization recently launched screen monitorsTCO Certified Edge Display1.0Verification standards, this verification is developed for products that meet the existing TCO screen display specifications, aiming to select the most environmentally friendly electronic products on the market. In the future, TCO organizations will also develop their own TCO Certified Edge standards for other categories of products.
TCO Certified Edge Display1.0 requires products to comply with the specifications of screen displays, and additional requirements are that products must contain at least 65% recycled plastic.
Assuming that a screen display that has obtained TCO Displays 5.0 certification has obtained TCO Certified Edge, its certificate type is "TCO Certified Edge", and the TCO specifications it meets will list "TCO Displays 5.0" and "TCO Certified Edge".
TCO Certified Edge requires that the computer screen applying for this certificate must contain at least 65% recycled plastic. This requirement is also expected to help the electronics industry reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 860,000 tons within five years of implementation.
Plastic recycled from discarded plastic bottles, food containers, computers and other products is called post-consumer plastic; the difference between this type of recycled plastic and plastic waste (post-industrial material) is that the recycled plastic The source is a product that has completed its product life cycle. In addition, recycled plastic is also more difficult to process than plastic waste because it is mixed with a variety of different plastic materials.
