Greenpeace releases the seventh edition of its "Guide to Greener Electronics"

Greenpeace releases the seventh edition of its "Guide to Greener Electronics"

Since its first edition in August 2006, Greenpeace's "Guide to Greener Electronics," updated every three months, released its seventh edition on March 18, 2008. This edition evaluated computers, mobile phones, televisions, and game consoles sold by 18 well-known manufacturers.

The key points of the evaluation are:

1.	Eliminate harmful chemicals from the products used.
2.	The implementation of a post-use waste recycling program.

Out of a possible 10 points, Samsung of South Korea, which has consistently performed well, and Toshiba of Japan, which has shown significant and continuous improvement, tied for first place with 7.7 points. Nokia, Sony, Dell, and Lenovo all tied for second place with 7.3 points.
