EU Rapid Alert System for Dangerous Non-Food Products (RAPEX, now called Safety Gate) The European Commission compiles information on non-compliant products reported by member states weekly and publishes it on its official website. In the RAPEX cases published between January 1 and 28, 2022 (RAPEX Report-2022-1 to RAPEX Report-2022-4), various electrical and electronic products violated Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation (Regulation (EU) 1907/2006), the RoHS Directive (Directive 2011/65/EU), and the POPs Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2019/2021), resulting in various mandatory measures. The main violations were excessive levels of plasticizers in plastic components and excessive levels of heavy metals in solder on printed circuit boards. Details of the announced violations are listed in the table below:
