EU Packaging Directive upgraded to regulations

On January 22, 2025, the European Union officially announced the new Packaging Materials Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR), which will come into effect on February 11 and will be applicable from August 12, 2026. The Packaging Materials Directive 94/62/EC (PPWD) will be phased out from the date of the new law's application.
