ECHA releases the latest REACH registration guidance, version 2.0.

Following public consultation, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published an updated REACH registration guidance on 2 May 2012.

Since the first version of the REACH registration guidelines was published in 2007, it has been revised several times. However, with the second REACH registration deadline approaching on May 31, 2013, the relevant authorities need to comprehensively revise the guidelines to make them clearer, simpler, and more convenient for registrants, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

In response to these needs, ECHA drafted a revised version of the REACH Registration Guidance and issued a consultation, and after summarizing the opinions of all parties, officially released REACH Registration Guidance 2.0 on May 2.

Version 2.0 has revised both the article structure and content. The content is located in Appendix 3 of the guidelines, and the main changes are as follows:

· Part I mainly explains and clarifies the registration requirements;

· Part II provides practical instructions on how to create and submit registration files using or referencing IT tools and manuals.

In addition, the 2.0 version of the guidance document has added explanations of experience and cases since the implementation of the REACH regulation.
