EU Announcement Extends the Validity Period of RoHS Annex IV Item 42 Exclusion Clause

On June 2, 2021, the Official Journal of the European Union officially published Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2021/884, extending the deadline of Article 42 of the exclusion clause in Annex IV of the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). This update will take effect on the 20th day after the announcement.

EU member states should adjust the relevant laws and regulations and announce them before June 30, 2022, and they should be officially implemented on July 1, 2022.

The modifications are as follows:

Exemptions		Application scope and date
42	Mercury in motorized rotary connectors used in intravascular ultrasound imaging systems operating in high frequency (>50MHz) modes.	Expiration date: June 30, 2026.
