ECHA proposes two new persistent organic pollutants

2025-07-14

ECHA recently proposed adding two new persistent organic pollutants and is open for public consultation with public interest groups until July 13, 2021.

ECHA is soliciting public opinions on the following two items:

UV-328 Ultraviolet absorber: Mainly used in plastic products to reduce plastic aging.
Methoxychlor：Mainly used as organochlorine insecticide.

These two compounds are likely to be proposed to the Stockholm Convention and added to the EU POPs regulations in the future. Detailed information on these two compounds is as follows:
