The EU has announced eight new substances authorized under REACH, which will gradually be phased out in 2015.
On February 14, 2012, the European Union announced the addition of eight new authorized substances to Annex 14 of REACH, increasing the REACH authorized list from six to fourteen substances. Manufacturers wishing to continue using these substances after the expiration date must apply for authorization before the deadline. These eight newly added authorized substances are expected to be phased out within three and a half years. After the expiration date, substances on the list can only be used within the EU with authorization.
