SASO RoHS Regulation Update!

SASO RoHS has been updated! These revisions mainly address some of the requirements for obtaining a SASO Certificate of Conformity for products exported to this region. Come check it out!

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) updated its technical regulations on the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment in August 2022, mainly revising some of the requirements for obtaining SASO certificates of conformity for products exported to the region.

The main changes to SASO RoHS are as follows:

Added a new Appendix (1-b) to the exclusion list of control and monitoring equipment. (Due to the large number of items on this list, it is not listed here one by one. Please refer to the source materials at the end of this article.)
New No. 5.2: For products covered by this SASO RoHS technical regulation, if the applicant is a manufacturer or its legal representative, they may issue a Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) stating that the product complies with the requirements of the SASO RoHS technical regulation. (The required documents vary depending on the applicant; please refer to the document requirements in the table below.)
